Incoming Full Degree Students

Business Academy South West is a modern, international institution of higher education and we offer study programmes for international students at our two study locations in Esbjerg and Sønderborg.

At Business Academy South West we offer a wide range of AP-degree programmes and Bachelor programmes.

Our programmes are based on a combination of theory and practice, and throughout your studies you will enjoy close cooperation with the business world, e.g. via guest lectures and company visits. Being a Danish institution we constantly work with innovation as keys to success, for both our students and our academy.

This information is for students that wish to start a full degree at Business Academy SouthWest.

Read the application process carefully before you apply. Please read our frequently asked questions if you have any questions regarding housing, state education grant etc.

Admission process for our AP Degrees

Business Academy South West cooperates with a range of organisations to promote our higher educational programmes abroad.

If you apply through one of these organisations please contact them for further information about the application procedure.

Application deadlines

AP degrees – Summer intake
All EU/Nordic applicants must apply no later than 15th of March at 12.00 noon. Later applications will only be accepted if we have available study places.

AP degrees – Winter intake
All EU/Nordic applicants must apply no later than the 15th of December at 12:00 noon. Later applications will only be accepted if we have available study places.

How to apply as an EU citizen

All international applicants must apply digitally at www.optagelse.dk

Application deadline

  • Applicants with a non-Danish educational background must apply no later than 15 March at 12.00 noon.
  • Applicants who apply later must also apply digitally but can only get admission if there are still study places available. The system will automatically show a warning of late application when an international applicant applies after 15 March.

How to apply

  • You will find all forms and a complete guide to the system on www.optagelse.dk/admission. The system is very user friendly and will guide you step by step.
  • If you do not have a Danish CPR (civil registration number), you will be asked to give your personal e-mail address in order to get your application profile registered in the system.
  • Once you have entered your e-mail address, a direct link to your login page will be sent to your inbox. Do check your spam box if you do not receive the e-mail.
  • With this login you will be able to start the application process. The system will automatically create a temporary CPR for you. Your e-mail address and this temporary CPR will be used to identify you throughout the whole application process both within the application system and by Business Academy South West. Therefore, do not change your e-mail address during the application process!
  • You must submit the application form and upload all enclosures on www.optagelse.dk before 15 March at 12.00 noon. Some enclosures, however, for instance the English test or the upper secondary diploma, may be uploaded later. The very latest deadline for uploading enclosures is 5 July at 12.00 noon, when the application system closes. If you receive your upper secondary diploma after this date, please contact us for further information.

Signature page (VERY IMPORTANT!)

  • When you have submitted your digital application(s), you must use the special print icon to print a signature page which contains a unique code.
  • You must sign and send/e-mail this signature page to all the programmes you apply for. Only if you do so, we will be able to see, download and consider your application!
  • After filling out your application at optagelse.dk please scan and send your signature page to optag@easv.dk

International applicants with a Danish CPR number

If you already have a Danish CPR number, you must use this to log on to the application system instead of your e-mail address. You will not receive the signature page and do not have to do anything after having submitted your application and enclosures.

Please upload with your application

  • Your upper secondary diploma and other educational diplomas, if any (e.g. a Bachelor’s Diploma). If you haven’t graduated yet, please upload a transcript of records.
  • English test result.
  • Motivation letter.
  • Copy of passport.
  • References, if any.
  • Documentation of working experience and/or stays abroad, if any.

Please do not send in documentation for non-relevant activities.

Upload the enclosures with your application or as soon as possible after your application. The sooner we receive your full application, the sooner we can start considering your application. The application system will automatically inform us of any new uploads so you do not need to contact us about this.

Motivational letter when applying
When applying for our programmes, we recommend that you send a motivation letter together with the application itself.

Your motivation letter should be a maximum of one A4 page. There is no standardized template for what a motivated application should look like. It’s a personal statement, but here are some suggested questions to ask yourself when writing a motivation letter:

  • What programme do you want to apply for and why?
  • What is your driving force and motivation, and how will you justify why we should admit you?
  • What relevant qualifications and experience do you have, and how have these influenced your choice of programme?
  • What considerations have you made about the programme’s structure, content, teaching methods, etc.
  • What personal qualities do you think are important for completing the programme?
